HISTORY
Founded in 2019, Dispensa Group, previously Zamaz Plc, was created as a retail technology driven, e-commerce business focused on Amazon as a distribution channel. It had a buy and build brand aggregator strategy. Market conditions for e-commerce brands and increasing Amazon costs and channel risk encouraged the board to review its tactics in the retail technology and brands space
Following an investment in its Italian e-commerce food platform Bella Dispensa in 2022, Dispensa Group recognized the significant value creation opportunity in combining technology and business development know-how, with traditional luxury food brand businesses. The “digitisation” post acquisition of such often under-valued and under-developed luxury businesses, and centralization of key functions such as sales and digital media marketing, enables the group to improve the luxury brand margins and help them to reach a greater audience of customers who appreciate luxury food
Dispensa Group now acquires entrepreneur led luxury food businesses with a post-acquisition 100-day digitization and service centralization strategy. Dispensa has acquired three such businesses since listing in September 2022, and given its strong pipeline sees a significant value-led opportunity to acquire many more.
